Of Diamonds and Counterfeits

Only that which is very, very precious is counterfeited.

A counterfeit may be so good that it itself has worth, but it is
never the genuine article, which is always far more dear and rare.

It takes a highly trained eye to be able to distinguish between a
counterfeit and that which is genuine.

Counterfeiters, like those who are experts in the genuine article,
are highly trained enough to be able to determine that which is
genuine, yet they spend their time counterfeiting expecting handome
recompense for their dubious labors. Counterfeiters could be
merchants of the true, but they choose to sully themselves with
deception and gain which is not coming to them. It is for that reason
that they are despicable.

It is true that one who poses as an expert in determining the true
may be in cahoots with the counterfeiters. How does one know the
truth? Only by asking God if the one who claims to speak God's Word
is true or not.
