In a Democracy Now! exclusive interview, we speak with Andrew Stepanian, an animal rights activist who was jailed at a secretive prison known as a Communication Management Unit, or CMU.
I'd say they this is quite at attempt at the kibosh.
Amy has very effectively been used as the soft-spoken voice through which the gov't has threatened us with special facilities for the literate if we keep communicating with one another. We can choose to shut up and let the system run roughshod over us, or, if we keep communicating to be treated as real desperados - after all, we've been warned. We'll be considered hard core if we continue to exercise our democratic rights and speak out for humane and just causes now. Kinda damned if we do and damned if we don't.
I say: Let's do continue to speak out, then, because bullies never respected the craven and backing down won't buy us either time or compassion.
